Channeling
A community created “for-us-by-us.”
Together we vent about the bullshit, learn about other’s experiences, and co-create solutions for issues we experience as young BIPOC professionals.
Many young professionals of color operate within white-centered spaces. This experience can be isolating and can erode self-worth, ultimately holding BIPOC professionals back from living their best lives at work and at play.
The Kickback provides a safe space for you to vent, discuss, and solution-build around this experience.
It can be difficult to find spaces where you can speak freely as a POC without feeling the need to censor yourself. We create an environment that fosters honest conversations that allow you to be vulnerable without fear of judgement or repercussion.
We believe that strength can be found through our shared experiences. Deep trust in each other and genuine friendship are at the root of the community.
Our conversations are designed to give community members the space to share personal experience while also gaining actionable first steps and discussing long term strategies to addressing race-related issues in the workplace.
The Kickback is a for-us-by-us community of cross-industry BIPOC professionals.
Manager say something f$#!’d up again? Want to confront them but not sure where to start? Our community is made up of people asking tough questions and sharing advice on how to have these conversations.
Be part of a community that won’t brush you off when you’re feeling a type of way. Whether you need to vent, to talk through a specific issue, or just want to hangout and decompress, our community will rally around you.
Your experience can provide strength to others. We’ll provide the platform if you provide the perspective.
If any of the above feels relatable to you, we encourage you to become a member of The Kickback. Apply here.
The Kickback centers around four cornerstone events a year that are open to the public, along with private kickbacks for members of the community.
Many of our events feature panelists, speakers, and moderators. We actively recruit people who are passionate and informed around particular topics or broad issue spaces. Kickback speakers are compensated for their time. Reach out to hello@tkbcollective.com to connect.
Have a topic or issue on your mind that you want to spotlight? We encourage community members to host their own Kickbacks. These meet ups can be virtual or in-person and as structured or unstructured as you like.
